How this result is generated
The location, network, and timezone fields come from network-level request metadata for the connection serving this page — the same signal the visitor geolocation API (GET /v1/geo) returns to a browser that calls it directly. No lookup database or IP intelligence list is queried for this page.
Reading the fields
Country and continent are usually reliable. City, postal code, and coordinates are estimates that can be off by a meaningful distance, particularly on mobile, satellite, corporate VPN, or anycast-routed connections — they describe the connection's network path, not necessarily your physical location. Network and ASN identify the organization that owns the IP range, not you personally.
Why "Security" says unavailable
This page is a request-time preview, not an authenticated API call, so it cannot run the VPN/Tor/threat-list evaluation available to visitor geolocation customers on a paid plan. That field intentionally shows "Unavailable" here rather than a fabricated result.
What this page cannot tell you

Why does this show a different city than where I am?
IP-based city estimates can be wrong, especially on mobile networks, VPNs, and corporate connections that route traffic through a different registered location than your own. Country-level results are more reliable than city-level results.
Does this page store my IP address?
This page renders the result of a single request and does not persist it. Watch-IP's API products handle logging and retention differently — see the security page for details once your integration uses a real API key.
Can I get this same data from my own website?

Why is Security marked unavailable instead of showing a result?
